Fernando Diaz de Leon Rendon is a multidisciplinary artist and educator known for his practice of diverse art mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and installations. Born in Mexico City and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico, Fernando's artistic journey began at a young age, nurtured by his family's creative environment.

He further developed his expertise at the Ontario College of Art and Design University, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting and a Minor in Material Art and Design (2017).

Fernando's artistic practice combines his Mexican heritage with his Canadian experience, resulting in a unique technique called Repujado "Repoussé" – a form of metal embossing on recycled metals, including aluminum, brass, stainless steel, copper, and pewter. Inspired by nature's majesty and architectural symbolism, his sustainable art features intricate details infused with subtle expressionist flair.

Committed to environmental responsibility, Fernando's artwork promotes eco-friendly practices, transforming discarded materials into stunning pieces that highlight the beauty of reuse and recycling.

Dedicated to fostering creativity, Fernando encourages experimentation with diverse mediums, bridging traditional techniques and modern perspectives. As an active member of various art galleries and studio tours in Haliburton and the Kawarthas, Fernando shares his expertise, inspiring others to explore their artistic voice.

"Each piece that I create is original and unique. I put my mind and my body in each work of art. I can even say that my art has a mind of its own"

- Fernando Diaz de Leon Rendon
